See post below for a detailed, blow by blow, more than you wanted to know explanation. Otherwise, here’s the summary of our last two weeks.
Elise was admitted to Littleton hospital a few eeks ago with RSV/Pnuemonia. She spent the next 6 days being treated there. We were discharged on Sunday, February 7th. She was then admitted to Children’s hospital the following Tuesday for complications from the pneumonia including a plueral effusion, pleural empyema, and pneumatocele. She had surgery on Thursday, February 11th to drain the fluid/pus around her lungs. She was discharged on Tuesday, February 16th.
We are grateful for all the love, support, help, prayers, and concern from so many people in the past two weeks. Elise is doing very well and SO HAPPY to be home with her brother and sister and toys, in her own bed, and without anyone in masks and gloves approaching her on an hourly basis.

Glad she is back home. What a tough thing to go through!! I hope she is very healthy from here on out!
Melissa, I am SO happy to hear everything went well! I am the worst friend EVER I have been meaning to call you but I have not. :( If you need ANYTHING please call. ;)
oh scary, i hate those moments. i'm glad to hear things are on the up and up.
Happy to hear she is home. Last time I called she was still in hospital but things were looking better (tho Dave had his "brave" voice on so it made me more worried.)
Melissa I am SOOOOOOO sorry that you guys had to go through that. What a story. Whew. I got a little teary just reading it. I thought it was bad when Annika split her forehead open the same week the kids had the stomach flu.....kinda puts things into perspective for me! Well, I hope you guys stay healthy and Elise continues to recover well!!!!!! =)
Holy Cow!
Your poor little girl. It is so scary when your little ones are sick. It sounds like she was well taken care of. I'm so happy to hear she is on the up and up.
